Christ’s Bondage-Breaking Blood

If you are struggling with some particular sin in your life right now, I have a word from the Lord for you today. It’s First Peter 1:18-19 (NIV), which says: “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, then you are delivered from the power of sin that would keep you in bondage. Even if it’s a sin that has been in your family for generations, you can still have victory over it through the power of Christ’s precious shed blood.

If you are living beneath your privileges as a child of God today, you don’t have to continue to do so. If you will believe this amazing promise from God, and receive it as your own, you can begin coming out of the sin that has held you captive. Ask the Lord how He would have you apply this promise to your life today. Pray that He will show you what your part in the process is. Rest assured that whatever He tells you to do, He will enable you to do through the power of His indwelling Spirit. Begin confessing your guaranteed victory by declaring repeatedly: “I am redeemed from [mention your sin here] by the precious blood of Christ, the spotless Lamb of God, and I give it no place in me!” Then expect the Lord to move mightily on your behalf as you refuse to back down or give up!
